PSG Grant Replaced by EDGE: What F&B Owners Need to Know

Contents

Is the PSG grant still open?

The PSG grant Singapore scheme stopped accepting new applications on 29 September 2026. From 30 September 2026, F&B owners should explore the EDGE Grant, which replaces the former EDG, MRA, and PSG schemes. Ongoing PSG submissions and projects continue under their original scheme, according to Enterprise Singapore.

Date Status Action for F&B owners
Up to 29 September 2026 EDG, MRA and PSG ceased on 29 September 2026 Submissions made before 30 September continue under their original scheme
From 30 September 2026 EDGE Grant applications open Apply through the Business Grants Portal (BGP) via the relevant EDGE activity page
Ongoing projects Processed under the original scheme Submit claims via the BGP after project completion

This update covers a policy change only, not a reopening of PSG applications. It also does not confirm that every former PSG solution carries over to EDGE, so F&B owners should verify each activity before planning a purchase.

What replaces the PSG grant?

The EDGE Grant Singapore is the new unified scheme that consolidates EDG, MRA, and PSG. F&B businesses find a relevant activity on Enterprise Singapore's EDGE pages or BizSG, then apply through the Business Grants Portal via that activity's link. Each EDGE activity specifies its own eligibility requirements, supportable costs, and vendor rules—some activities require pre-approved vendors, while others let you choose your own.

How to apply for EDGE:

  1. Check the EDGE activity list across its business areas, or use the BizSG recommender to find activities that match your project.

  2. Open the activity page and review its supportable costs, project qualifying period, deliverables and documents required.

  3. Confirm the activity's vendor rules. Some activities require a pre-approved vendor, while others let you choose your own.

  4. Confirm your business is registered in Singapore with at least 30% Singaporean or PR ownership, as stated in the EDGE Grant FAQ.

  5. Make sure work has not started and no payment or deposit has been made before you submit. Retrospective applications are not supported.

  6. Submit through the Business Grants Portal link on the activity page. Only staff with the Corppass BGP Preparer or Acceptor role can submit.

Each company has an annual grant cap of S$100,000 across all eligible activities, which resets on 1 April each year.

Can EDGE Grant fund a POS?

A Singapore F&B business should not assume that a POS system qualifies for EDGE support. Eligibility depends entirely on the selected EDGE activity, its specific requirements, and whether a pre-approved vendor is needed. POS solutions may be covered under certain digitalisation activities, but only if they meet the activity's criteria for supportable costs, vendor requirements, and other conditions. Check the current activity list before you sign a POS contract, as described in the EDGE Grant FAQ.

Check What to confirm Restaurant example
Business need EDGE caps support at S$100,000 per company a year, with up to S$30,000 for single-function digital solutions and integrated enterprise systems. Evaluate a cloud-based iPad POS on operational fit first. A two-outlet café compares POS quotes for shared sales reporting.
Activity fit Whether a listed EDGE activity covers the POS and its supported costs. Read the activity page on Enterprise Singapore's EDGE pages or BizSG before requesting quotes.
Vendor requirements Whether the activity requires a pre-approved vendor. If not, you may choose any vendor. Confirm the vendor is on the approved list if one applies, and verify it has no relationship with your company or its directors. Confirm the vendor is on the list if one applies, and confirm it has no relationship with your company or its directors.
Application timing Applications are submitted through the Business Grants Portal from 30 September 2026. Work, payment or deposits before submission are not supported. Collect quotes early, but sign and pay only after you submit.

Businesses that previously received PSG grant support for a POS project should not seek EDGE support for the same project. Eats365 is not represented as a pre-approved vendor, and this article does not confirm that any POS system is eligible.

What if EDGE Grant lacks a fit?

Restaurants that cannot find a suitable activity under the EDGE Grant Singapore scheme should approach SME Centres. SME Centres provide business advice, diagnostic toolkits, referrals to relevant partners, and guidance on other government support schemes, but they do not guarantee funding. F&B owners exploring government support should start there.

Next steps for restaurants without a matching EDGE activity:

  1. Confirm the gap: Check the activity list on Enterprise Singapore's EDGE pages or BizSG to confirm that no listed activity covers your digitalisation project.

  2. Book an SME Centre appointment: Discuss your project scope with an SME Centre advisor if you are unsure which activity applies.

  3. Request toolkits and referrals: Ask for access to relevant toolkits and resources, or for referrals to partners that match your project.

  4. Ask about other support: Request information on other relevant non-EDGE government support schemes, and check their requirements separately.

PSG Grant Singapore FAQs

Q: Has the PSG grant in Singapore been replaced by the EDGE grant?

Yes, the PSG grant was replaced by the EDGE Grant Singapore from 30 September 2026. EDGE consolidates the former EDG, MRA, and PSG schemes into a single grant framework administered through the Business Grants Portal. The PSG scheme stopped accepting new applications on 29 September 2026. New applications for digitalisation, internationalisation, standards, and other eligible activities must now be submitted through EDGE, though businesses may also explore other non-EDGE support options via SME Centres.

Q: What happens to existing or pending PSG grant applications after 29 September 2026?

Existing submissions and ongoing projects made before 30 September 2026 continue under the original PSG scheme. They will not be automatically converted into EDGE grant projects. F&B businesses with approved PSG projects should complete their implementations as planned and submit their claims through the Business Grants Portal (BGP) according to the original scheme guidelines after project completion.

Q: Can F&B businesses claim EDGE grant funding for a POS system?

Grant funding for a POS system is not guaranteed under EDGE and depends on specific activity requirements. Restaurant operators must verify whether an active EDGE activity covers POS hardware or software before committing. If your business previously received PSG grant support for a POS project, you cannot apply for EDGE funding for that same project. Additionally, work and payment must not begin prior to application.

Q: What is the maximum funding cap for businesses under the EDGE grant?

Each company has an annual EDGE grant cap of S$100,000 across all eligible activities, which resets every year on 1 April. Within this overall limit, specific caps apply depending on the activity type, such as up to S$30,000 for single-function digital solutions and integrated enterprise systems. Supportable costs and exact funding amounts vary across individual EDGE activity pages.

Q: What should restaurant owners do if no EDGE grant activity fits their project?

Restaurant owners who cannot find a suitable EDGE activity should book an appointment with an SME Centre. SME Centre advisors provide business advice, diagnostic toolkits, and referrals to suitable industry partners. They can also guide businesses toward other non-EDGE government support schemes that might fit their digitalisation needs, though these advisory services do not guarantee grant funding approval.
